FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to bring?

A bike in good working order, a helmet (compulsory), body armour (knee and elbow pads at least) and closed shoes: no flip-flops. Bring water, a snack and clothes for mountain weather (a light waterproof is always a good idea).

I don’t have a bike. Can I hire one?

We don’t hire bikes ourselves, but the shops in Les Gets do, including protection: see our Bike Shops page. Book your bike early in July and August.

How old do you need to be?

Group lessons are from 7 years old. Private lessons are for any age: we can even teach young children to ride a bike.

What level do I need?

For a group lesson, you need to ride a bike without stabilisers and stand up on the pedals on your own. Private lessons suit every level, from complete beginners to expert riders.

Is the lift pass included?

For group lessons, yes: the lift pass is included in the price. For private lessons it isn’t: contact us if you would like us to include it.

Where do we meet?

At the school, 322 route du Front de Neige, Les Gets. Please be there a few minutes before the start time, ready to ride.

How long are the lessons, and when?

Group lessons last 3 hours and start at 2pm, Sunday to Friday in July and August. Private lessons last 2 hours, 3 hours, a half day (4 hours) or a full day; the start times are shown when you book.

How many riders per lesson?

Groups have 3 to 8 riders of a similar level. A private lesson is for you alone or for up to 10 riders who ride together, and the price is for the whole group.

Can I choose my instructor?

Yes, for private lessons: choose the instructor above the calendar when you book, and you will see only their free dates. You can also book from our team page.

Which languages do the instructors speak?

Our instructors speak French, most also speak English, and some speak other languages: see each instructor on our team page.

How do I pay?

Online by card or PayPal, or by card over the phone or at our office. All lessons are paid in full in advance, when booking.

Can I cancel?

Yes, with the link in your confirmation email, up to 72 hours before the lesson. More than 7 days before, you are refunded in full; from 7 days to 72 hours before, 30% of the price is kept; less than 72 hours before, or if you don’t come, there is no refund. If a rider is ill or injured, send us a medical certificate and we offer a credit or refund. Full details are in our terms and conditions.

What if the weather is bad?

Lessons go ahead in normal mountain weather, including light rain: just dress for it. If conditions are dangerous (storm, lightning) or the trails or lifts are closed, we contact you to move the lesson to another date or refund it in full.

Do I need insurance?

Our instructors are insured for their teaching. We strongly recommend that each rider has their own insurance for accidents, mountain rescue and civil liability.

How do gift vouchers work?

A gift voucher is for a lesson of your choice and is valid for 12 months. It can be used online (enter the code at the last step of the booking) or by phone, email or at the office. If the lesson costs less, the rest stays on the voucher. Buy a gift voucher.
